I've been looking at a lot of 1960's futuristic images the past couple days. I love how the ideas of the future where portrayed, and all the colours and plastic!
So I made a quick mood Bord of my favorite images

Monday 27 May 2013

I was looking at some of my favorite s/s13 looks and I came across Marc Jacobs' 60's inspired collection.

I love the the mix of black and tones of brown on the eyes and the blending around the outer corners of the eyes. The brown really updates the look and makes this look much more wearable.

First swept the eyelid with MAC's "Orb" eye shadow, and then used L'Oreal liquid gel liner, black, and blended the edges with a small soft brush.

I then used MAC's "Carbon" eye shadow and applied on the lower lash line, blending it out with a small soft brush, and then applied it along the upper lash line and blending again.

For the brown I used MAC's "Concrete" eye shadow and gave it depth my adding GOSH, greyborwn, eyebrow pencil along the edges, then i blended it towards the eye.

To finish I used MAX FACTORS false effect mascara, top and bottom. Then I made the brows very heavy and shaped using MAC's "Carbon" eye shadow and a small angled brush.

I got some images back from a shoot I took part in a little while ago, it for some fashion look books. We shoot two different collections in one day, I always love seeing designer's creations and being inspired by them.

The colourful, Geographic tribal clothing is designed by Farah Ajmal.
I did the full make-up for this look and hair:
Base: MAC studio tech foundation NC32 & NC37 and MAC face and body foundation C4
MAC blusher "Strada" and MAC bronzing powder
         MAC blot powder meduim
Eyes: l'oreal gel liquid liner Black MAC "Carbon" eye shadow KIKO water eye shadow 202 MUA eye shadow "Pearl 1"
MAX FACTOR false lash effect mascara black
MAC "Carbon" eye shadow through the brows
Lips: Another model lent me a lip gloss that as a better shade than the options that I had! (very professional)

And the modern structered collection is designed by Vicky Probert.
I only styled the hair and added make-up to the eyes.
I gave depth to the eyes by using MAC's "Concrete" & "Texture" eye shadows.

Recently I read a post on Manrepeller's Blog (http://www.manrepeller.com/2013/05/henna-lips.html) about a Henna Lipstick and I was instantly intrigued. After reading their post I was on ebay looking for a Henna lipstick to try myself.
I found one for £2.50(!) with only 99p delivery charge, and it turned up today.

I applied it and my lips have turned a rosy pink, I think it's amazing how it changes tones for each individual to suit them. This purchase will be perfect for long days, as it can stay put for hours (I even tried wiping it off with my finger and it didn't budge) and I can't wait to use it when I go on holiday as it'll be something to apply whilst I'm swimming (/lying in the sun) to brighten my face.
I'm really looking forward to using this summer.

Today we shoot looks for Samantha Louise Gatman's collection, which was a beautiful collection!
She decided, for the make-up, red lips and minimal make-up would which I thought was a really good choice and I would not have thought to do that myself. I wanted the red to look fresh and bright so that it tied together well with the modern sporty collection.

Fendi S/S13

Some detailed shots of the collection that stood out to me.
Peter Philips used pieces of material on the eyes rather than pencil, and along with the youthful base I think its creates a modern impression on the catwalk and compliments the whole collection.
The shoes are what really stood out to me, I love the muted tones of colour broken down into structured areas on the shoe.
Karl Lagerfeld always creates fresh collections that are modern, new textures materials and structures with a playful finish.

Saturday 18 May 2013

Yesterday we shot some looks for Fashion design lookbooks; a few on location and then we moved on to the studio.
The clothes were beautiful, modern colourful tribal, so we kept the make-up contemporary with dark eyes and the hair tied back out of the face so it didn't distract from the garments.
I am really looking forward to seeing the final images from location.
